Fished Ron's "secret" lake yesterday and it was awesome.....3/5/2024

After a 2 1/2 hour drive, we put in at Lake X yesterday at about 9:45am. Air temp was mid 40's and the water temp was 52*. Water color was pretty skanky with lots of moss around the shore that made it pretty hard to fish. For the first hour to an hour and a half I was afraid we had wasted our time driving so far. We had thrown about everything in the box with only a handful of bites to show for it. Then, we found a spot with a little bit deeper water in it and without so much moss. All of a sudden we started getting bit fast and furiously. We found a huge school of bait fish in that little hole of deeper water and the bass were just tearing them up. We started throwing small swimbaits and umbrella rigs through the school and experienced an incredible bite for almost two hours. My buddy Ron had never doubled up on an umbrella rig before but during this flurry he had doubles on twice in 10 minutes. We wound up with 21 keepers. It was awesome.
