Prostate cancer, it was my turn

I was diagnosed last November and had my prostate out using the robotic assisted procedure last Wednesday. The surgeon did a great job even without FFS believe it or not. Had low grade, non-aggressive and pathology came back with nothing found in the margins. Thankful for those results. My prostate was 92 grams which was apparently ginormous for only being 50, I probably should have had it mounted and put on the wall. Just hanging out at home wishing I was out on the local lake where the ice just went off yesterday and has had some of the best spring fishing during that time. This board is a surprisingly good resources for folks in my situation. As previously recommended if your family has a history of this like mine did, make sure you stay current on your checkups.

Glad you're heading for better times ahead

There is some great advice given here on the BBC, good folks. A few ole soreheads too but mostly good folks

And if you're still entertaining having a mount made be sure to contact Adam here on the board. He'll fix you right up

Hope all goes well with your recovery! Just a question here, for us guys in our mid 40’s and up, but how did the problems surface? As in was it just elevated PSA levels on a blood work check up or were there noticeable issues?

I went through the same thing in 2019. I was also lucky in that it was caught early and had not spread to nearby tissue. Do your kegel exercises to prevent leaking. When you get ready to resume “adult activities,” see which med works best for you and be sure to take it on an empty stomach, otherwise it won’t work vey well.

If you had robotic assisted surgery, essentially it was using FFS. lol. Glad you are doing ok.

Good to hear another good story of someone who was proactive and didn’t ignore things hoping it would go away until it was too late to do anything.

My Boss when I worked for a company in Green Bay lived on Lake Shawno used to spend time there when back there on business. I can see why you are anxious to get back on that beautiful lake.
