One more question. Friend currently has a Gen 3 with TotalScan. He wants the ability to read depth and look for bait while cruising. Is there any way to keep the Totalscan and add an in-hull (or transom) 2D? I know we could replace the TotalScan with an LSS2 and separate 2D. Can we turn off the 2D function of the TotalScan? Looking for the easiest install and the lowest cost.

Carbon was the first dual-channel 2D unit from Lowrance.
I haven’t tried on a Gen 3, but I would expect that as soon as you choose the PD-WBL as transducer, the Gen 3 will treat the TotalScan as an LSS-2.
That will be my first option. The guy doesn't want to spend a lot of money. Would be great if it turns the TS into an LSS2. Thx TC
