Gator wasn’t attacking them. Old folks flapping their jaws and not paying attention and the gator just trying to hurry up and get across the pavement before the idiots run it over.

I didn’t think he was attacking either. I was just amazed at how fast he was moving.
They can move a lot faster than people think, if you see one lift his body off the ground he's getting ready to scoot.
