Kind of begs the question, what about watching fishing is actually "exciting"?
A) the cast
B) the bait action
C) the target
D) the anticipation of a hookup
E) the hookup
F) the fight
G) the reveal of how big or small the fish is
If it's A-C, then that pretty much rules out drop shotting, dragging a c-rig, fan casting a damiki in deep water and maybe a few others as well. If it's D, then I could see that more casts = more anticipation of a hookup. If it's E-G, then FFS doesn't really hurt watchability, and in fact one could argue it makes it better.
Lol!
I was getting worried, alas some common sense on this matter.
My view people don't like is cause they can't relate, or tell where they are fishing.

That's pretty funny. I'd say watching drop shot fishing is boring whether or not FFS is in use.

If I see bass fishing on tv while flipping channels I'll watch 2-3 minutes and move on. It's just something I love doing, not something I love watching other people do.

It is boring.
It’s funny because it’s true.
LAME
Except that not how FFS looks most of the time. The FFS guy is cruising around, staring at the display without a bait in the water.
