Cargo work pants, what do you buy?

In construction industry and I like to wear a good quality pant, for the past few years I have been buying Duluth Trading company firehose cargo pants and I really like them for the obscene amount of pockets as I carry 2 knives, pencils, flashlight, wallet and other stuff. The problem I have been having is that almost all the pants are developing holes at the crotch gusset, I don't see a problem with this as I try to wear matching underwear, but my wife seems to think it's inappropriate? I have talked to Duluth and they will warrant them for 1 year, but the holes seem to show up after the warranty period. Guess I am changing brands...not sure what high quality COMFORTABLE work pants to get, looking for suggestions.

I don’t work for a regular paycheck anymore but I just wear jeans when I am working in the woods or in the shop. I do however wear cargo shorts all summer with only a few exceptions.

Don't know how well they would hold up to your work, but I just tried Truewerk and they are awesome pants. 1 year warranty. They are expensive but I love them.

I wear these for farm work. They hold up better than most I've tried.

Keep wearing the crotch out might be a sign.
That little itch could be telling you something.
They make an ointment for that.

Have you tried any of the Duluth flex pants? It's a lighter material and I don't know if you'll have as many pockets but the fabric seems to be more abrasion resistant. I have the same problem as you with the firehose pants. I walk a lot and they wear out in the crotch

Carhart FR cargo. I try to catch them on sale via FR depot. Usually last about 2 years each.
