    Another livewell question

1998 Model 273. Never owned a boat with livewells before. I have a switch beside me with open and closed on it and two rocker switches on the dash. One says aerator and the other says recirculate. Would someone advise me the proper way the system is built to work?

is the switch that says open and close a cable? I would assume it’s that simple. It just simply opens the drain or closes the drain. If so, you turn the aerator on when you have fish in the live well and the recirculate also at times to move more water and pump in more air Are you sure there’s not more controls than what you’re seeing?

Too expand on what mactlman is telling you. The switch beside you is a lever on the gunnel, correct? If so, it's attached to a cable that opens or closes the valve. Close it when you want water to be in the live well and open when you want it to drain. The Aerator switch will pump water into the livewell when on. The recirculate switch just recirculates the water that is in the livewell already and may possibly add air as well.

Correct. It’s a switch on the gunnel. It’s a flow rite switch, valve, whatever you call it.
