Right now I’ve got a 26 tempest with 2 holes plugged with a medium sized hole , i do notice I accelerate a lot faster but my motor seems to be very boggy and I don’t have as much bow rise with the tempest then I did with the 25m , I can’t find anyone with my same set up and I really want to figure this out

A 26 tempest is known to need work even
When new. That may be part of problem.

I have a 1999 203 with a 98 225 OX66 VMax. Is your 02 sensor clean? No leaking lift pumps? I switched from a tempest 3 blade to a fury 4 blade. I lost a couple mph on the top end but I really like the hole shot and rough water handling. The Yamaha M series will lift better than a tempest. As Scott196 mentioned above, a stock 26 tempest will typically need work right out of the box. I would talk to Mark Croxton regarding props.

My 196 has a 200 Yamaha with a phase kit and I run a 26 tempest and it will run! That prop should run good on your rig. I would send to a good prop guy.

I had a 26 tempest plus worked by Steve’s Custom Props. Ran it on 97 202 with merc 250 xs. Should run in the high 70s depending on load. Stock 26 tempest plus doesn’t work well. I tried 2 that were stock then had one of them worked. My boat likes a 27 better though. Have you run it wide open to see what it will do?
