Mega SI, one side fades to darkness

Afternoon fellas, as title states. Started end of last year. Boat level, transducer level, verified its just one side of the transducer, pict is of a huge flat. Scared transducer is starting to go bad. Any thoughts?
    Hope you catch a Big'un!

Add a picture of your transducer's placement.

Is this a pic of a raised roadbed? If you reverse the direction of travel does the darkside switch over to the other side? You are so shallow if the terrain varies just slightly you will block the sonar signal and it will not return echos very well.
Tell me where has a slow movin' once quick draw outlaw got to go

Wayne, transducer is mounted on a hole shot plate. Can take pict tomorrow if you'd think would help.

Bobcoy, fading is always on the same side. I can reverse the view through the menu and the fading will be on the other side. Pict is of familiar water, big flat. It also fades at all depth.
    Hope you catch a Big'un!

Unless you did some radical attachment to the hole-shot plate, that would not be the issue.
You may have a weak left side SI piezo. If you were using the MEGA frequency, switch to 455 and see if you get complete coverage.

    Happy Easter ALL!

Update: Had to replace the transducer, assume I wacked 3 too many stumps, LOL!
Transducer has some good scuffs on the bad side.

Yep, that will do it. They can take a lickin' and keep on tickin' (to steel an old Timex commercial phrase), but sometimes, it's just too much.

Mine was I had to switch from angler mode or custom mode. Then from the SI screen, hit menu, the sonar options, then SI sensitivity. This lets you adjust the left side to match the right. Then on the initial menu, you can adjust both. This will change depending on water color.

    I agree with this statement.
Scratches on the case or adjustments to the left beam do not affect this picture on the left half.
