    Question on a 2001 Xl

    I’m looking at buying a 1993 Stratos 201 XL with an evinrude 200xl. This would be my fist boat. I’ve fished and boated all my life but my true first boat. I know it’s older but it’s in really good shape. Just wanting to get a decent boat to start. I don’t need the fastest most tricked out thing but the lakes around here can be a bit rough (east Texas lake Conroe and others). I know evinrude is no longer so need to change out the motor at some point. Please let me know what you think and what it might be worth. Thanks

    wood in boat so check it over well carb engine so they can always be an issues. look trailer over well also price? evinrude still around just not making outboards

    The guy is asking 7500. My budget is more than that as I’m looking at some champion ones also. Probably max right now I’d spend is 15k.

    Looks like a nice boat. As stated, it has plenty of wood in it so you should have it checked by someone who knows what to look for. I had an 89 model like that and they are really nice boats. If it's been taken care of and garage kept it could be rot free or minimal.

    1999 and up on a stratos to avoid wood 2003 and up on a ranger surprisingly--basscat had not wood after early to mid 90's or so I believe I read
