Will power poles become a thing of the past?

Don’t really see much of a need with all the offshore fishing and spot lock. What do you think, just an added expense now?

Still need them for the crappie/bass brakes. At least until someone figures out a way to mount those without them.

Won't be a thing of the past, there will always be shallow water fishing.

No, they will continue to be used. There are certain months where poles are necessary.
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!

I don't think shallow water anchors are going anywhere anytime soon.

I don't offshore fish, they are great for fishing bedders and bluegill beds. I won't go without them.

I did not get poles on my last boat and found a way to make due using a manual fiberglass anchor system. new boat has spot lock and I love it. Likely will use the fiberglass anchor pole when fishing crappie stakes.

I'm honestly shocked more people haven't been using the engine mount Minn kota motors that are available. Maybe they're discontinued?

They are pretty handy at the ramp or to beach at weigh-in

Have a friend that has them on a pontoon he uses on an eclectic only lake. Still has gas motor but no tank. He likes having the steering wheel.

Not sure how good these would be when not in use at high speeds?

Seems like there would be a good bit of drag when taking off or shutting down after a run.

Not if you’re in shallow lakes all the time. They wouldn’t help me in the waters I fish. Only very few times I could ever use them. A lot of southern lakes I could see them always being used.

I use shallow water anchors frequently as I fish a lot of shallow water.
