    Thinking Out Loud

I just got my 98 20XD back going and need some trolling motor batterys. Since I don't get to go very much and keep the boat pretty light. I fish a lot by myself and maybe have 6-8 rods and a little tackle since I usually know what I want to do. I was thinking maybe some Lithiums I have heard of them slowing boats down and do NOT want that. What say Y'all?

Its all about center of gravity.

Yes, you can see a loss of performance when switching to lithium batteries, but you can get it back plus some with a setup change.

I went from two group 31 lead acid trollers to one 24v lithium. No loss of speed, not really any gain of top speed "with the bravo" But hole shot and backwash setting down was much improved. I did have to move a little weight around side to side to rebalance the boat.

How long are your typical fishing trips?

I only go out 3-5 hours at a time so lead acid batteries work fine for me.
