    1989 363v Complete Rewire… Difficult?

Got my boat back for those that remember I almost lost it… ended up working out pretty well for me!

I am wanting to completely rewire the boat and all electronics because of the rats nest of wires currently. It really makes trouble shooting tough. (Just spent 5 hours trying to get boat to crank only to realize it needed a new ignition switch, she’s running now). I’ve never done anything like this and was wondering if anyone has done this or thought about doing it. Trying to see how tough it is, although I don’t think it will be too much of a hassle and probably way worth it in the end.

Appreciate all the tips in advance!

Mealy Marine has a restoration/modification multi-segment video , including a rewire they did on youtube for a 300 series. You may want to watch it to help decide if it's really something you want to tackle or not. Good luck on your decision.

I just went through this myself. It takes time and lots of "rework" to move wires around and make them look good.

No affiliation with any of these recommendations, just happy customer:

Ranger has most wiring diagrams in the owners manual. Scroll down and select year

If you want to replicate Factory wiring/color schemas, this is a good place for Marine Tinned Striped Wire.

Custom length/size battery cables and other marine tinned wires. You can order exactly what you want with correct ends. Recommend Clear shrink tubing so you can see the connection.

TE makes the Deutsch connector that Ranger has switched to but they are PRICEY. I opted for the JREADY version with solid pins on Amazon. Still pricey but you can save a bit more by getting the non-solid pins. Biggest savings is in the crimp tool.
