Turbo Tax Sucks - Can’t save file

Trying to pay my penalty for being a productive member of society.

I absolutely despise doing my taxes as I get to waste hours of time giving my money to the government to waste with hopes of getting some bread crumbs at retirement.

    But I digress…….

So I entered all the data and go to save the file.

I get an error message saying they can’t locate the file.

well no shit, I am trying to save it. It currently not saved.

    Anyone have this issue.

Not to be a jerk but you are doing this?

To save TurboTax files, you need to12:
Open your tax return in TurboTax.
Click "File" and choose "Save As" from the menu.
Select the destination folder and type a name for the backup in the "File name" field.
Click "Save" to export your tax return.
If you want to save the file to a flash drive, transfer the backup from the destination folder to the flash drive.

Yes that is exactly what I am doing. The error I get is saying “Can’t find the file”. It is the type of error that makes me think it is looking to open a file not save.

I think it has something to do with the download.

You have until April 15th, why are you trying to give them money early?

This is from a few years ago, but it seems to sound similar in nature to what you're describing - assuming you're on Windows. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/ta...-why/00/400199

Screw Turbo Tax, had an issue with them two years ago, went back to Tax Slayer never an issue with them.

Maybe you were typing in Cursive?

How much is Turbo Tax charging nowadays? I used them for years until the fees got too expensive. About 5 years ago my nephew graduated college and works for CPA firm, I just drop them off to him, best thing I ever did.

No problems on my end. Do the return, sign out and exit come back exactly where I left off? As a matter a fact they bug the piss out of me until I press the button to get them filed, which I won't do until last dam minute because I hate writing checks to DC.

Are you forced to file electronically with these products or can you print it and mail it if desired?
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

I file electronically but I'm pretty sure you are able to print and file by mail. I've done this with turbo tax in years past.
