Heading Sensor for Terrova
I have a question regarding a Minn Kota terrova and the heading sensor. I am installing on a pontoon. I don’t have many switches on the pontoon. Nothing left that’s not used. However I assume it needs to be wired to a switched power? Does anyone have any insight on this?
I don’t want to wire to a keyed power, because key will be off while fishing. I assume it does not need to be powered all the time. Any input?

I had an accessory switch on my stratos that didn't have anything on it so i wired mine up to it. Also be sure to check for magnetic interference with a compass when trying to find a place to mount the heading sensor. The only good place i found was beside the console on mine. I checked up front close to the trolling motor & the compass went berzerk when i turned the power button on the terrova on. I never had any by the console so i mounted it there.

Mine was powered all the time when the master disconnect was on.
