I have to use mine all the time because of neuropathy and balance not being very good.

Always have it in the bow of my boat. Most of the time I lean against it for balance.

Once I hit my 70's sorta lost my ability to stay balanced.

Used one forever. Also my back ached. Forgot it one day and realized I felt much better after a day of fishing. I think leaning against it throws your back and geometry into non-supportive states. Standing straight up puts less stress on my body it seems. I also love how much extra room it feels like you have if you are not constantly dancing around that seat. I haven't carried one in years and will not go back.

Nope....it will put me in the water. I am always keeping my body in the right position to react to fish. I guess it comes from years of sports, coaching the fine movements of athleucs. I may to set, then hit that pole, and go off balance. Its in the way, too afraid I will back into it and send me in the water.

Wish I didn't but honestly can't stand / fish more than a couple hours without it. Takes pressure off my lower back.

Always! Even when I was younger, I tried the "pro" way and fished without it for one day. I hated not having it to lean on or grab onto when dealing with giant wakes. I found an early Triton I loved for its comfort and had it recovered to match. I have it for two boats now for close to 15 years.

I always have mine on the back deck just in case the weather changes and the lake gets to white capping.

I use a butt seat as well. Helps me balance better when the waves pick up.

It's always in the rod locker, but haven't used it in 4 years.

Exactly the same for me. My back would be killing me at the end of the day when I used it. Without it, I'm never sore anymore.

Always used to for years. It did seem to help with balance on trying to run the trolling motor back then. When I finally upgraded the boat to a recessed tm pedal mount, I realized I didn't need the seat any longer and haven't been using one in years. Combine that with better shoes (the things you learn as you get older) and I'm good to go now.

And yes, like others, not slounching and leaning on a seat also helped with the lower back feeling better!

Prefer to stand. But when I'm spot locked and dragging I have started using the sit down seat. Saves the back and feet. I've got plantar whatever and can only stand for around 4 hours. After that its sit or put it on the trailer.
