Have you been to Mount Rushmore?

Since it is President's Day, who has been and what did you think of it?

I have not been. Maybe some day.

Been there. In all honesty it wasn't as impressive as I had hoped. Thought crazy horse was better. Cj

It was pretty cool but I enjoyed the Badlands and Custer State park more.

Was there last October. If you go, you need to stay for the night show. Honestly, I thought it would have been larger. Also, I was thinking you could see it from the road, but you have to go into the park to see it.

I've heard stories about huge crowds and horrible traffic backups?

Been twice. I found it to be captivating and inspiring both times. But be sure to leave time to enjoy Custer State Park while you're there.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

Yes, 60 years ago and I remember almost nothing about it. I would like to return on a long trip to visit many of our great sites in the western U.S.

I went…. The drive there was more interesting because I had never been in mountains before.. got a couple pictures and that was it… definitely wasn’t as exciting as I expected… glad to be able to say I’ve seen it though..

I never saw crazy horse but I’ve had so many people tell me it was better…

devils tower was cool.. not too far away..

It's pretty uneventful but definitely is a once in a lifetime to go see. Now Crazyhorse that's exciting!! It'll be finished by early 3030.
But in all seriousness it is beautiful country there and the shops are a lot of fun.

Did the north west driving tour to close all of the 50 states. BTDT....been there done that; and it was a site to see it just isn't what you see on TV. Kinda small but did enjoy it and like others above other sites are really impressive. Badlands, Custer State Park and Yellowstone are awesome IMO.

If you go there take the time to drive the Needles Highway some of the most impressive views I’ve ever seen.

I thought it was pretty cool but I liked Devils tower also. You don't need to spend a ton of time at either but worth the look. I thought the movie about Rushmore that played in the theater there was pretty cool also. There were lots of people there but I wouldn't say we fought a crowd.

It's like looking at the Grand Canyon, yep there it is a big crevasse in the earth, pretty cool, seen it now I'm done.

I’m originally from So Dak so have seen it many times and met some of the men who worked on it when I was a youngster. The Needles Hwy is an interesting drive as you pass through every tunnel you get a view of Mount Rushmore.

I really enjoy the night closing ceremony and seeing the Veterans in attendance who get to participate.

Custer State Park has always been my favorite place in the Black Hills it is a remarkable place the diversity of wildlife there is great. Devils Tower is a must see also as the Black Hills aren’t like sightseeing in the Rocky Mountains there is much less driving so you can see a lot of sites.

Crazy Horse is a scam that family has been cashing in big time all these years as the amount of money being donated compared to the amount of work getting done is highly questionable. It would have been done years ago if they would accept public funds but then they’d have to be accountable for all the costs.
