Xtra heavy fast or heavy xtra fast?

What’s the difference? I get confused… shopping for a new flipping stick.. I flip wood with clumpy mats more than I punch big solid mats…

i haven’t shopped rods in a while and there’s no local selection on flipping stuff around me…. I sure hate spending $200+ on a rod that I can’t put my hands on first!!

Xtra Heavy or Heavy = Power Fast or Xtra Fast = Action (how far down the rod bends before hitting the backbone)

Personally I wouldn't want an extra fast action for a flipping rod, but everyone has their own preference.

For what you described I would go with the XH fast.
Honestly you could get away with a H fast.
I just picked up a Falcon Cara H/fast “Amistad” during a TW sale and it’s become not only my favorite jig rod but one of my overall favorite rods along side my NRX 873.

I use both. I go with heavy with braid… some times mh.
