Latest trick to remove sticker residue?

Wow! I just removed the registration letters off boat I just bought and it left some stubborn residue. I have tried both goof off and WD40 already and it will not take the outline of letters or all the rest off. Crazy stubborn. It's almost light enough I can just put the new letters over top and you would never notice but it would drive me nuts. Thought maybe it was due to being so cold where I am now. I could use the dryer again to heat up the area and see if that helps.

You must use a adhesive remover. I have posted here a few times already. Search my posts with adhesive remover and you will find it. Adhesive remover breaks down the adhesive to components and takes it right off.

just about any petroleum based product will soften it up enough to get it off. You gotta really keep it wet. I normally use acetone because I have alot of it in my shop. Gas will work also.

https://a.co/d/2ZS5WaX Work very well but is a bit expensive. You should be able to get it at your local auto parts store as well.

I always used denatured alcohol on a rag. A little scrubbing and it comes right off.

Goof off works great. The trick is to let it soak in for a few minutes.

IF you're careful, you can use a heat gun on low setting. Just make sure not to get too close and keep the gun moving so as not to heat up an area. I was able to remove my reg stickers easily this way. No trace of the old stickers and left the gel coat perfect.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I have tried several of them. Whatever glue they used on the back of the previous letters on this boat was made by the devil!!

I did! I finally gave up and put my letting right on top of what was left. I just spot clean what is not covered at a later date.

You need a 3M eraser wheel for a hand grinder.

I tried that too! All it did was leave rubber residue on top of the sticker residue. I am telling you. This stuff made by the devil!!
