what is the advantage of using a turret with the AT 2

Your trolling motor can be on Anchor Lock maintaining position while the turret can rotate to look in any direction. Some people find a turret more sensitive than using the foot pedal of a trolling motor to turn the transducer. Finally, it takes a decent amount of weight off the troller. There might be other advantages that I don’t know about. Personally, mine is on the shaft of my Ghost.

Mine is also on the shaft for the moment, and I recommend using it on the shaft until you get experience with it. I wrote an article about this subject that will be published next month on westernbass.com on-line magazine. Soon I will be testing a new solution that combines the best of both methods (shaft mount vs. separate pole mount).
