    New Dishwasher Time

A couple of nights ago, right in the middle of a wash cycle our 20+ Kenmore/Bosch dishwasher starts a buzzing noise that can be heard throughout the house. This morning it's no better. I'm guessing the pump motor is on it's was out. I thought about calling a repairman but those guys will be $200 to $400. I think I'd rather put the money into a new machine. I see a couple Bosch units at Lowe's on sale for $809 to $900. Don't want to go over a grand at most.

What advice does the BBC Intel Collective have to offer?
    Don't worry Ma'am....
    I'm only here for the
    Bass.

We have a Kitchenaid model that was about $800, it is very quiet and has been problem free for 5 years. I have heard good things about Bosch units too.

Clear it out and unplug it. You have a sink and running water. Wash them and let them dry.
Hang on. I'll help you in 77 minutes.

Look up the cost of the parts you believe need to be replaced. Then watch a YouTube video on it and fix the damn thing yourself.

We've had real quiet Bosh and Kitchenaide dishwashers over the years. Check the decibel levels if you use it much. We had one that came with a new house that was so noisy you could not watch TV when it was running. A downfall of "open concept" homes.

I don't have any luck buying appliances from HD or Lowes. Bought a Kitchen Aid dishwasher from them and they had to deliver it from the warehouse. Two days later, they show up with a dishwasher that was older looking than the one it was replacing. Missing handle, drain hose ripped off, rust stains on the outside and it was SS, etc. What a hassle. Went to our local appliance store and bought a little better Kitchen Aid for the same price.

And quite! The house we bought came with one in it, and the first time we used it I swore up and down it was not working due to zero noise being made.
Just be kind to one another. It really is that simple.

Recently replaced ours.. maybe 6 months ago with a Samsung ($800). Seriously can't hear the thing running and dishes are the consistently cleanest from any dishwasher we've ever owned. Literally had to check it on the phone app to make sure it was on. I can't speak to service and life yet of course. But, Fishing buddy who spent 30 years working in quality control testing for 3 different dishwasher companies helped me with the install and said it looked to be well made with quality components. We'll see over time I suppose.

Bosch. Quiet and clean. Check the quiet rating on the model you are looking to purchase.
