    Snakes already out

Water temps may only be a little over 50 degrees but snakes are sunning on the water here.

Looking at our forecasted temps for the next couple weeks…looking like an early start to the spawn this year.

We dog sit our daughters dog. One day last week my wife found a tick that had been latched on for a few days because it was full of blood. I don't ever recall a tick being out in February.

Been out on the water a couple times this month and seen turtles both times. Seems odd for February.

I went bank fishing on a small local lake here in WV two days after this past Christmas and found this little feller right beside me when I looked down. Granted, we’ve had a mild winter, but not quite that mild.

I went Crappie fishing on lake Okeechobee in the mid 80's, went to put a Crappie on the stringer that was tied to the side of the pontoon and snakes was trying to eat the Crappie off the stringer. lol

Been in 30s in am here. Haven’t seen any snakes or lizards yet. See Turtles year round at the lake.

We are supposed to get 5 inches of snow late tonight through tomorrow here in Missouri. Any snakes that came out last week will be going back to sleep for a day or two.

Turtles are out, spiders are out, snakes are out. Seems like Spring may be a tad earlier this year. No complaints here.
Been fishin' since I was 5 years old...Thanks Grandpa!

He was cold and pretty stiff at first. He got the wiggles pretty quick though. I’ve held many a snake in my day.
