25P props aren't all the same....

So this fall I got a new to me rig. 1997 Triton TR21.
It had a 200hp on it, but I was able to trade for a 225 Opti.

My last boat was an 85 Champion 184 with a 175 merc. On that boat a 25M ran out really good.

So I tried it on the Triton. Massive struggles to get out of the hole with full livewells and fuel. If I add my Co it probably won't. BUT... on a quick WOT run I saw 66, and it was still climbing but I ran out of lake.

I tried my 25 Trophy Plus and I need a blow out ring... badly. I can blow that prop out at will. Slip is through the roof.

A buddy borrowed me his 25 Laser. Out of the hole is OK but slip is through the roof. Like topped out at 56 hitting the rev limiter.

Finding props right now is crazy. People are asking full price for a used prop. That being said, I'd like to try and find the right prop quicker. Is a 25 Tempest what I should be looking for? 25 Fury?

Should I find a good prop shop and send my 25M to get modified?

What is the best plan of attack? Right now I can't get out and run the boat as there is about a foot of ice on the lakes.

Buddy of mine had same boat, let me see if I can find some info for you. If I remember he settled on a bravo, but not sure of model or pitch.

    I've been told that too.

Anyone know the difference between the Bravo and the Tempest? What about the Fury?

That's what I mean by 25P isn't the same... lol

I much prefer a Bravo XS/FS over a Tempest. Will need to run 1"+ pitch on a Bravo. Bravo's are great at carrying weight, jumping on plane, lower planing speeds, tight turns and if you have a jackplate you can run them high and get within 1-2 mph of a Tempest +. IMO the Tempest + sucks everywhere else in comparison.

Good to know! So if I'm looking at a 25, grab a 26 Bravo? That should be way easier to find!

25" pitch Tempest is what I would go with.
