Sunday, she was walking down her hallway, and all of a sudden her right eye lost vision. She thought she could blink it back or after all of everyone's web research....determined it was detached retina. She went to ER Sun afternoon. She felt fine other than losing most all of her vision outta that eye, vitals all fine, etc....could barely see only a dim light coming in and that's all. Appt got scheduled for Mon at 7:30am with eye doctor. We got a call from her mid morning that she has had a CRAO (central retina artery occlusion) episode. Basically, she had a stroke in her eyeball. There is no blood flow to the eyeball and has permanently lost sight in her right eye......
She goes today at 10am to primary doctor to complete a full stroke makeup, checking all of her body to see if anywhere else is susceptible for stroke. Mary has been our rock in our family. Always there helping everyone out, aging parents, etc.....now this happens. I know there's a reason why things happen as they do, but Lord I ask that you lift her up and protect other parts of her body. She can live without an eye. Praying for best possible outcome from the stroke makeup.
