I would definitely be looking at changing the head gasket if you have water on the plugs and a clean cylinder. Head gasket failure with age is pretty common on this engine.

I believe it is 6250 without unplugging the limiter. Mine will not go above it when I overtrim. 57 to 5800 is a sweet spot with mine. As Amistad said you need to fix your water issue. It is nothing to do head gaskets on this engine. Cj

Definitely pulling heads next week. Easy work. Called Hydrotech and sending my heads in to have them machined down while I have them off. Scoped the suspect cylinder and that piston looks like new so for sure water is getting in there. Compression is the same on all cylinders.

Curious what my RPM will go to after. It's been low for quite some time I am suspecting, because of the power loss. Just never though much of it. Years ago it used to cut RPM a couple hundred on the top end like a switch. On/Off, never did figure that out. Hope that's not what is going on. Deleting the low pressure pumps and pulling the VST as well.

What other maintenance has been done on this motor? Has the fuel injectors been pulled and flow tested? Has the Vst filter been replaced or the onboard fuel water separator? I would first address the head/ gasket and run it and in doing so it operates good.. Make sure that issue is resolved. Then proceed to the rpm loss. Repairing multiple things at one time when an issue arises makes it that more difficult to diagnose. Just something I was taught when I was young by a mechanic.
