Time to end this nonsense ... who's in ?

It's tongue in cheek so unwad yer manties.

Stripped down to the bare minimum. Instinct, wits, skill, luck, whatever .... the bare knuckle brawl of tournament fishing.

    1) NO electronics whatsoever EXCEPT for what is necessary for safe navigation.

    2) NO cell phone onboard

    3) 100' minimum between boats. First guy on the spot owns it as long as he's there. Encroaching is a 5 lb penalty to the offending boat.

    4) Neutral Marshall on every boat.

    5) All local/state game laws apply

    6) No limit on amount of rods/tackle EXCEPT ALL hooks shall be barbless (figured I'd throw that in there for fun)

It's pretty much the only way to ensure a level field. Think ya got what it takes ? .... again, this is just for fun so lighten up but be mindful of the spirit of the thread ...

I mean... that's how I fish all the time. Except for barbless hooks, I'm a luddite, not a caveman.

All the rules are fine in terms of a level playing field other than the electronics rule. Why does banning electronics ensure a level playing field? How about requiring that everyone has their choice of electronics or a required set of electronics? That is if level field is the goal. Seems like here the goal is for people who are bad at electronics use to not be intimidated.

Bill, I guess we can all imagine what heaven’s like in our own way but we won’t know until we get there.

No. The boomers that didn’t pay attention in junior high and who can’t read a map will get their feelings hurt. Level playing field means you can’t be better at something than the group that refuses to learn or just show us all how “instincts” prevail.

I could encroach at will. I'm lucky to get 5 lbs in the boat , so what do I have to lose.

Of course the local guys will dominate. Are you suggesting neutral site with no local knowledge? I think Ray Scott tried this once…….

I never learned to paddle a canoe and I refuse to acquire a new skill. I demand that only bank fishing is allowed. But not where it is muddy. I got to keep these white New Balances shiny for when I hit up Luby’s at 4:30 pm to pick up a Luanne Platter and some foxy blue-haired mamacita

If you really want to level the field and test skill, how about a series where each angler gets to bring one rod. The morning of the tournament the anglers are provided one specific lure to be used the entire day. Same color and manufacturer. You lose that one lure and you’re done for the day.

And just what am I suppose to do with all these electronics I borrowed money to buy? I’ll need a loan forgiveness Federal Program in order to participate and avoid any hardship going forward.
