    Gold...coin or bar

I am looking at buying either a 1/4 oz gold eagle coin or a 10 gram gold bar for grandsons birthday. I know bar is a little more expensive than coin. My question is is it easier to sell the coin or a bar that is sealed with assay? Thanks for your help.

Bars have serial numbers and can be traced once sold and if there is profit then the F'n govt will want their cut.
