I sent mine back. I think it had to do with phantom "Administrative fees" that were seen to be just extra charges without any service or justification. The court case isn't a done deal, so I'm not spending anything yet. I think people put their brain on autopilot sometimes and companies take advantage of it- this may be a way to keep them in check.
I read the brief. Verizon agreed to settle for $100 million but admitted no wrong doing. They changed the statement on your bill about the administrative fee's as part of the settlement. Once the judge approves the settlement, the lawyers get 33% off the top. The original plaintiffs get a couple thousand each. Then they take out all of the administrative fee's. Then they see what's left and divide that up amongst the customers who were lumped into the class-action claim. If you don't specifically opt out you are part of the claim, but you only get money if you submit the form.

As I understand dollar amount is calculated by starting with $15 and adding a dollar for each month you are a customer during the specified period. Not to exceed a $100.
The specified period is almost 7 years and ends in late 2023 ( I don't remember the month but is not December.)
Most not much but the best I've gotten is about 1,400 bucks. from a major company. Check just showed up in the mail. Didn't remember anything about it. The letter with it said it was a Class action settlement.

If class action lawsuits were outlawed what would stop companies like Verizon from completely screwing their customers? Don’t expect the govt to do anything.

Verizon will be ok after this payout. They increased rates to offset the loss of $$$$

Did not get one as far as i know, being retired i take every dime i can lay my hands on.
