    Portable garage heater suggetions

would appreciate any suggestions for a garage heater, 2-1/2 stall size garage. Nothing that attaches to any portion of the garage, Needs to be portable because I do not want one that is a permanent fixture. Simply looking for one that will satisfactory heat up the garage in order to do some work in the cold winters for a few hours, and that it will be safe to operate. Thank you.

Put up a 5KW heater in the garage and had to run a 240V line to it. Works great for me.

Propane Mushroom heater. No electricity needed and they’re cheap. a few sizes to choose from. They heat up a place really fast and they’re not very loud at all. We would use a 200k btu one to heat up a 2 story 2500 foot home. From the basement it would heat the entire house. Made the taper very happy

I would go with a propane top of tank heater . You can use your grill tank. It should do the trick ,as long as you not opening doors alot .

I heat my 14x32 garage with a 30,000 BTU Mr Heather propane heater. I got it at Tractor Supply. Works great for me.

I've used one of these for the past 3 years. It gets HOT quick, so I usually just turn it on low. A propane tank will last me an entire year.
I chose this one in particular because it does not require electricity, and wanted something to have as emergency backup heat source

If your garage is insulated, consider a window AC with heat. It may take a while to get it warm, but it will make a difference and you would have AC in the summer.

I put 2 of the 5kw heaters in my boat shed and used my 240v welder plug for power.

Portable kerosene, diesel or propane heaters add a lot of moisture to the air. Once you turn the heater off the moisture will condense on windows, doors tools etc.. keep an eye on it so you can stop using it if it’s causing problems.
