    196 with 150 speed

Is there anyone with firsthand experience who could tell me how fast a 196 will go with a 150. I've got a 2020 Mercury Fourstroke with a 4 blade 23p prop on it. Haven't had time to try the boat out.

Small motor for a boat that size, 50-55 MPH.

    I’d think you’re close. It’s a big boat for a 150, my bud only gets 62 with a 200hp.

You may need a 21 pitch! I had a smalll block 200 and it would only turn a 23!

The 4 strokes prefer smaller props. I've tested everything from a 23-26P on a 300 4 stroke. A 1fitty starting point is gonna be 19-21 or smaller. The Fury/Champ combos prefer the 3 blade Furys.

I'll play but not with a 196. 201 fns with a 150 GT T load 2 anglers 48 GPS. Just me 50. 24 P Raker 3 blade. Could spin it just fine motor mounted flat on Transom 3 holes up. Swapped out a Merc 150 2 stoke salt water on a bay boat to a 150 Merc 4 stroke and used the same prop can't remember the pitch but think it was a 19 P Tempest.

Ran a 23P Tempest on my 181 champ with a 150. I would think you will need to drop to a 21 or 19 P prop.
