tidying up some wires under the dash

Would it be ok to tie some wires to my hydraulic lines, to get them up and out of site under my console . Or should I avoid that ?? Just doing a little clean-up after I added a small lithium for my lowrances under my console

Those lines won't move or flex. If it was an airplane, the answer would probably be no, your boat might be fast, but not that fast. Now, I would cinch the zipties down but not try to break down the line coatings. I don't like tape because of the residue, but if you're worried about the hydraulic lines use tape then zip over it.

The doctor is in. That's my opinion. 50 cents please.

A technique shown to to me 25 yrs ago by a rigger.

Fasten a few wire tyes around the hyd. lines with your finger acting as a spacer.

Fasten a 2nd wire tye through the 1st and around your wire(s) or bundles and snug.

Lightly snug the 1st tye on the Hyd. line.

So far so good after all these years.

    Good luck.

Amazon has tons of Velcro straps that you can use and reuse and you can adjust the tightness of them and they actually last pretty good for their cheapness. I use them to hold stuff on the trolling motor prop hold my ladder up. hold my graph covers on, but you could also use them to hold wiring up Without hurting anything

Zero issue with securing wires to the hydraulic hoses for the steering. Zip ties are time tested and work just fine, lately though I've been using velcro more and more. I think it looks neater and it can be re-used.

As stated Velcro or small nylon zip ties work very well.

Mine have been zip tied to the hydraulic lines for 21 years now. I think you’ll be fine.

Either will work. I got some velcro straps from Lowes Home Improvement, for my sun covers for my Lowrance units.
