Alabama? 30 degrees? That's flannel shirt weather.

I get it. But I went fishing in Louisiana Last month and when I showed up it was +/- 45 degrees and I was wearing flip flops. The folks we rented our house from were freaked out and several guys we ran across were rocking Sitka bibs

It’s all about what you’re used to. The middle two weeks of last month I worked in mid 30 degree weather and only wore Carhartt hoodies.

Santa Claus brought me a pricey Merino wool baselayer shirt. Wore it yesterday doing a brake job outside and it worked well. Skin never felt damp or cool. That and a heavy zipper hoodie is what I wear.

Yeah rub it in. I wore mine this morning, 36 and had to go split some fat lighter before the rain moves in.
When I worked in Materials at the plant, one of my duties was to unload the foam chemical tankers. Became well acquainted with the drivers out of the OH, PA, VA area. On those 30 degree mornings those guys would show up in shorts and give me a hard time about wearing a big coat.

A 20+ year old Woolrich Barn Coat. Been out of production for many years. Lighter weight canvas than say a Carhartt. Most comfortable coat I’ve ever had for chores around the property.
An L. L. Bean Field Coat or Orvis Classic Barn Coat would be close to the same weight and style.
Perfect weight for Alabama Fall and Winters.

Carhartt. Look at local construction workers, Hwy Department guys, pipeliners, they all have Carhartts when it gets cold.

Living in Canada, where winters are brutally cold, finding a warm work jacket has always been a challenge for me. However, the warmest jacket I've owned for over two years now is a replica Moncler from the best replica clothing site. I paid around $250 for it, and it's been incredibly durable and warm, perfect for working outside in the yard during the harsh winter months. The quality is impressive, with good insulation and water resistance, making it ideal for outdoor work.

When I saw “winter”, I thought northern winter. Winter in Alabama? Long sleeve shirt or hoody.

I've got three different Walls jackets - two have different amounts of insulation (I'm good from 40 down to about -15), and the third (my favorite) isn't fit to go out in public anymore - too much grease wrestling been done in it. Got a couple Wrangler chore parkas for warmer conditions.

Carhart barn jacket with a hoodie underneath. That's good to 40 below. I have used this for years. When is gets colder than that I break out the Canada goose.

Best jacket I've ever owned. Very light weight and thin. I can sometimes just wear a t-shirt underneath. If it's really cold I will wear a hoodie underneath. I own three of them.
