I wear this Lee Sherpa lined vest over a hoodie most of the time. If it’s windy enough to need a wind breaker layer, I have a North Face parka shell that I throw over top.

Used to wear a sheepskin vest but only done up a little with a GWG lined jean jacket over it.
You worked up a sweat pretty quickly.
Tuday, age has set in I wear Merino base coat with a hoodie and a shell to cut the wind.
On cold days when I need to wear a tool belt, a Walls duck canvas hooded bomber - When just pockets will do, a parka-length Wrangler duck flannel. Unlined Lee denim for nicer weather.
Carhartt, own a couple different ones depending on how cold it is. Once its in the teens I usually also put on a pair of carhartt bibs and a sweatshirt.

Carhartt makes good work wear. I would go to a farm supply place that sells clothing. Changes are they will have a selection of coats.

I bought one of these a few months ago....some of the best $$ I've spent on cold weather gear. Amazing!
John the Garage Doorman
Carhartt storm defender for 95% of the time, fall through early spring and layer up underneath. Water proof and blocks the wind. I have several others, including arctic rated wear but, most of the time, it’s a nuisance due to the bulkyness.

Carhartt Yukon Extreme
For the word "work", I vote Carhartt's duck fabric for durability.
I've got 18 years on one of the traditional insulated work coats, and still going. Great protection from wind, and impenetrable by thorns, sticks, scrapes against hard/sharp objects, etc.
Picked up one of the Extremes coats a couple years ago and expect that one to outlive me for durability.

Columbia Winter (Omni) Gear, have several of their jackets, hoodies, and sweaters with it lined.
Very warm, dry, and light in weight.
