I'd like to know as well. I just picked up a 2014 z7 with the 150 opti ProXs and was thinking of picking up a lithium cranker.

Been using an Ionic 100AH for 4 years now on a 2009 115 hp 4s with no issues. When I 1st got it, the BMS was not updated and caused my voltage gauge to run high. I contacted Ionic and they had me send it in to get the updated BMS installed and has been like a rock ever since.

as of Jan 2020 all IONIC 125ah were shipped with the updated BMS and shortly after that all 100ah has the same BMS fully compatible with proxs 2 and 4 strokes, the 100ah us good for up to 150hp, it will work on the 175hp but if you are running 3 or more graphs and FFS we recommend the 125ah

our 105 ah powerhouse cranker would more then satisfy all your garmins and livescope run livewell's and all other accessories and crank your 2175 with plenty of power to spare over a long day on the water.

So you're saying that the regular 100ah battery can be used as a starting battery for the new Mercury Pro XS 150hp four stroke? This motor requires 800CCA minimum, what does the battery put out?

It is not that the motor itself requires 800 amps. That is just a specification stated by Mercury Marine.

As with say Reserve Capacity specifications, we are left to wonder why.

My '09 115 hp 4s requires 800 cca as well and as I mentioned earlier, it has been going strong now for 4 years.

The IONIC 100ah and 125ah have the same BMS with different programing , and yes it will start your 150hp with ease and also charge just fine, we have customers running them as standalone starting batteries with 250 proxs and even and 300Rs

I have fished a few 8+ hour tournaments with an Ionic 12v125ah as the only battery for everything (beside the trolling motor, of course). I have three Lowrance Carbon displays, Sonic hub 2 that is always on, dual live wells with four pumps for each. Active Target, and lights. I have had it as low as 73% once. It always cranks the new SHO easily.

before Ionic, I would have to have a separate battery for the motor, and a 31 for the boat. The 31 would be almost dead in 6 hours. I’d have to put the Carbons on standby every time I turned off the motor. When the pumps would kick on, the active target screen would black out. I have also run the lead acid grp 31’s dead on the trolling motor. No longer do I worry about batteries. I have dumped four 31 sized Optima’s for two 12v50’s and one 12v125. Dropped 200 pounds out of the boat and none of them have been below 70% on a full day of fishing. They drain so little, that the cycle count after a few months of fishing is 8 cycles. That’s fishing 3-4 days a week. If they are supposed to last a few thousand cycles….these batteries may outlive the boat.
