    Cheap lifep04 batteries

Has anyone had any luck using the cheaper lithium batteries for their electronics? I’m probably going to buy a newer boat next year and don’t want to spend $800 or $900 on a battery for a few months use.

Li time seems to be a reputable brand according to Will Prowse and other Youtube reviews and teardowns.

I'm using Weize dedicated for electronics for about a year, no issues.

There’s lithium, and there are lifepo4. Those are different batteries so be careful what you’re looking for.

Depends on what size you are looking for. This can give you some different factors to consider.

I currently am using this LiTime for my electronics,

Redodo Power is another great brand to check in that price range. I've got a few of them and ZERO trouble. I've yet to understand why folks would pay more unless you were truly in a situation where you couldn't charge for a few days and needed some sort of Bluetooth capability to monitor your usage. Shoot me a message if you'd like more info.

I recently put a 100 am on my wife's pond prowler. We can make 7 times more trips compared to wet cell we had before. Great product

Why not just buy quality name brand and just put in the new boat when you get it?

That’s what I’ve been doing. It’s easier to buy the better stuff now, save the dealer mark up on the stuff, then move it over to the new boat when it arrives. In one boat I had, the electronics were worth more than the boat they were on. Haha.

If only for a few months use I would consider agm or lead. Lithium may have more life cycles, weigh less and charge faster but if agm or lead will sufficiently meet your power needs why spend several hundred when you can do it for far less if “for a few months use” is all you need. If fishing just about every day in that few month period I could justify lithium. Otherwise use a battery agm or lead battery that meets your needs.

    Well a 100 AH AGM = $319.00 https://www.batteriesplus.com/produc...ls/wkdc12=100p
    And a 100 AH LifePo4 = $269.00 https://www.amazon.com/ECO-WORTHY-Ph...c1a776d5d&th=1
Even the LA batts are $159.00 https://www.batteriesplus.com/productdetails/sli31mdc

So that argument doesn't quite work anymore. I went with those Ecoworthy batteries for my troller on the River-Pro three years ago now and have had great success. They have far exceeded my expectations for their price and are literally a 1/3 of the weight of the X2 AGM's I had before.
