It is a gas spring replacement for Ultrex motors to overcome the extra weight added with accessories bolted to the Ultrex==MEGA 360 and MEGA LIVE Target Lock. It is a longer/stronger gas spring that anchors in a different place inside the mount.
After Ron came up with the solution, Minnkota brought out a complete mount change to overcome the extra weight.

Argh! My boat has been in the shop since 29 Nov, waiting for parts from Mercury. Needless to say I haven't installed mine yet. SMDH
Mine was away for winter nap, hopefully will get mine installed over the next week. Still waiting on my injector service. It was supposed to be finished last week, but still haven't heard anything.
Well, after having this back on my mind, and still no update on my injectors, figured I would spend the afternoon tackling the install. It was way easier than I expected, and took no time at all. The hardest part was getting the Ultrex off the mount. Since it hits the trailer steps on the way down and the garage door on the way off the mount, it took some finagling. With the directions given, the actual install could not have been easier. I can't wait to actually try it out.
