    Anyone Know What This Is?

My puppy brought this in this morning from the yard, looks like some type of nut. Trying to ID it to see if I need to be concerned.

Not a walnut, shell is to small and smooth. I spent many years harvesting walnuts on my grandparents' farm.

It's a nut of some kind, Shell looks sort like a native pecan IDK?? However, the inside looks like a black walnut to me. I wouldn't worry too much...keep an eye on the pooch see if she starts to look sick or starts vomiting or diarrhea.
    Don't worry Ma'am....

I'm thinking that it was already opened by a squirell or some other critter and he found the empty shell in the yard. Yes, I will be keeping an eye on him.
