    St Lawrence access near Hogansburg

Looking to do some fishing on the Saint Regis river, and possibly see if I could get access into the northern tier of the St. Lawrence. Are there any lunches anyone knows of in the Hogansburg area along the Saint Regis that would allow me to get into the northern tier of the St. Lawrence?

The New York State website only lists launches in Messena and south towards the thousand islands area.

have an 18 foot aluminum bass tracker so I could use a dirt launch if there is one that is legal

    Thanks for your help.

There is a nice launch at Hawkins Point on the SLR just on the down side of the power dam. It's not all that far to the St Regis River from there, maybe a 10-15 min boat ride.

EDIT : I did a quick Google Maps and there might be a launch at the end of Mill St in Hogansburg and if so it looks like that will get you into the SLR.

Be aware that most of the SLR on that side of the dam is Canadian waters.

Most of the ramps near hogansburg are on Akwasane land and I think you need to be part of the nation to use them. I’m not 100% positive though. Like BoatBuggy said, nearly all of the 1000 islands water there is Canadian water.

All I know is my in laws live up near Massena and part of the EMS community up there. EMS will wait for nation police escorts whenever they’re on nation land, the Akwasane aren’t known for their friendliness.

id just call the town and ask if there’s any public ramps available.

also, if you plan on coming up anytime soon, I’d reconsider. The NY bass season is closed up there until June 15 even for catch and release

Thanks guys. This is mostly for next season. I also saw much of the area is on Akwasane land. Don't want to have an issue that is why I am doing my due diligence. Google maps shows many launches at the end of roads but I have no idea if it is safe to launch there without my tow rig getting messed with or ticketed.

I stay in Malone NY so looking something not too far from there.

    Thanks again

There is a launch in Fort Covington, It is shallow under the bridge, turn left go about half a mile and check in with Customs and you are four miles from the St. Lawrence.
