    HDS Live and Carbon

I am running a HDS live 12 and HDS carbon 12 at the console I just replaced the LSS2 with a 3 and 1 should I replace the through hull ducer or buy the adapter or should I just use the Carbon as main unit and just hook Ethernet and NMEA to the live. Which way would be the best easier to do it right now then decide later to change thanks
I am also running HDS carbon 12 at the bow if that matters Thanks

As you now have a transom mounted 2D-transducer (the AI 3i1), you will most likely use that when you actively search for fish, and only use the shoot-through (I`m guessing it is a shoot through and not a through hull) for on-plane readings. In that case, as long as the shoot-through works, keep it.

Hook the shoot through to the Carbon as that will not require an adapter. You can connect the 3in1 to either as long as they are connected by Ethernet, either transducer is available on either unit.
Be sure the Carbon is fully updated if you connect the 3in1 there. Also all units must have Sonar Channels 1 and 2 turned on and Multisource must be turned on for the 3in1 to work with a second sonar transducer.

NoCal, do you know if the Gen 2 HDS will work with the 3in1 transducer?

DO NOT CONNECT A GEN 2 in this system. You will lose the 2D function of your 3in1. And no, it will not work on a Gen 2.
