Shoveling calf barns out, picking rock and throwing bales! Hard work for not much pay (got fed well though!) but I look back at it fondly now.

Numerous. Stock boy along with delivery guy/ marking room / garbage collector / restaurant maintenance / window cleaner at a Major local Department store. Along with a newspaper route, a supermarket gig along with a gas station gig. Most overlapping until I turned 19. Starting at 12 years old with the paper route.

Working around the family business starting around 14. Ideal Plumbing. Mechanical Contractors. Also a retail store front for plumbing supplies. Stocked shelves with fittings and loaded pipe racks. Unloaded trucks with everything from iron pipe to cast iron to sheetmetal. First job career was as a sheet metal worker while I got worked towards my master plumber license, and eventually commercial HVAC technician.
Great place to learn the construction business, and develop skills I‘ve used my entire life. I was very fortunate early in my working life.

    10-13 i had a paper route.
13-15 i was a farmhand on a vegetable farm. Hard work and low pay but probably the best two summers i could have had at that age. Really shaped my work ethic in ways i would not understand at the time.
15-22 i worked part time at a hardware store. I fully ran said store from 19-22 because the owner had a midlife crisis after his wife passed and he literally disappeared for almost 3 years. He asked me now day if i would run the store because he needed yo go figure some stuff out after his wife died. I said sure and he took off and literally was gone for 3 years. he would check in every once in a while but otherwise was not around. I changed a lot of things while he was gone and grew the business a fair bit for him while he was gone.
15-22 during summers i worked as a machinist at my fathers shop in addition to the hardware store.

Graduated college at 22 and went to work in my computer engineering career where i have been ever since. Still helped out the hardware store and my dad when they needed it until i was like 30.

I was a painter. In 1957 my neighbor paid me $20.00 to paint a picket fence. $20.00 was BIG money in 1957. Gave me a bucket of paint, a brush and $20.00. I painted for about an hour then knocked on his door. Handed him the bucket, the brush and his $20.00.

I did bag groceries, good money, and as a crabgrass plucker on a golf course. Got fired for swearing on the course on ladies day.

My first real job I was 14. I went to a lumber yard and the boss and another guy were out back loading 2x4s. I walked up and said I want to work he never turned around and looked at me he just said be here at 7 tomorrow. That was about 1975 and best I can recall pay was 2.25 an hour.

I worked at a Burger King for 3 days, sold fireworks one summer, did odd jobs around a neighbor's plumbing supply company, was a lifeguard for 2 summers, washed dishes at a banquet hall, and worked at a U-Haul renting out equipment and installing hitches and wiring.

I worked on our sugar cane farm and with our cattle until I turned 15. Dad got me a job in town at the hardware store to make money, $2.50 an hour that was like 1971-72. Worked there until I graduated high school while also working on sugar cane farms for neighbors.

I worked at the local Piggly Wiggly grocery store while in High school, while driving and running an evening Keebler snack route, stocking store shelves, when summer came along, I quit the grocery store for a full time job driving parts for the NAPA store in town. When summer ended and had to go back and finish my senior year, I went to work for MAPCO truck stop running a register and taking care of the store. Upon graduation I went to work in a factory where we made the steel belting material for radial tires. Since the question only pertains to while in School I will stop there. The list does go on.
