    Nice upgrade to the SHO!

I had my ECU flashed by Hydrotech in Missouri and it really woke the beast up! My old heavy Ranger before would top out at 67-68 mph at 57-5800 rpms. I only did one high speed run with it due to my prop being pretty beat up and needing the Croxton treatment. It topped out at 71.4 at 59xx rpms. I'm hoping it will hit 75 after getting the prop repaired.

    That’s some odd math. Says 2.75% with a 23p

The calculator, based on the rpm and mph you provided. If a 23 is incorrect, share what prop you’re ruining or run the calculator yourself. Not bashing you, but math is math.

Is it better to have a faster boat burning less fuel (higher efficiency) with a propeller having a higher slip number or better to have a slower boat burning more fuel (less efficiency) with a propeller having a lower slip number?

Did they do a nizpro flash or do they have their own?

My research indicated that the Nizpro tune provides 332hp. The Hydrotec bumps it up to 300.

Nice, now you will be able to keep up with all the Skeeters, Caymas, Tritons, Phoenix, and Bass Cats with 200s on them now.

I’m pretty sure the Nizpro tune only offers one RPM limit of 6,400 and the Hydrotech has RPM limit options when purchasing. Not 100 percent certain on that so don’t quote me.

I have basically the same boat only '14. Only noticed about 2 mph difference with the Hydrotec flash BUT quite a bit of improvement in mid-range. I'm pleased with the upgrade!

50 more horses and only 2mph gain? I would want to know why if that were my rig.

If it a 21ft boat with a 250hp 2-3 mph is about right. Unless you want to rev upwards of 7000 rpm!

    Tough crowd here.

The tunes are all the same basically between Niz and Hydro and the old Simon company that started it. You're getting a 300 offshore tune with a choice of what rev limit you want. The 250 SHO already produces a tad more than 250 at the prop, just like the Merc. The biggest jump is getting a 200 SHO flashed. All these Horsepower charts they post are from the dyno readings at the crank. The flash does give a good boost on the low end and acceleration with the 250, but the tune is not going to turn the SHO into a monster by any means.

I'm in full agreement with Hammmerhead's comments. The SHO 300 HP tune provides significant mid-range performance gains, however HP levels off beyond 5500 rpm.
