    Ultrex bushing replacement

Replacing bushing on Ultrex and cannot get two of the T-30 screws out of base. I was able to get two out. I then commenced to break every 1/4 inch socket and T-30 bit I had. Twisted two other 3/8 T-30 socket bits as well. Applied heat and used the impact with no success. Anybody else ever have any issues? If so, how did you get them out.
    Thanks in advance.

more heat, and when you think its hot enough give it even more. then use https://www.amazon.com/ABN-Reversibl...9&sr=8-23&th=1

if that doesn't work you may have to drill them out but that sucks too.

I still ended up drilling one and then used a screw extractor !!

Same here, one was completely frozen and eventually stripped.

    Thanks for replies.

I do have an impact driver set, but no T-30 bits to fit the driver. The impact driver takes 3/8 & 1/2 bits and I can't seem to find any. Help needed if someone could direct me to these larger quality bits.
I've ordered a host of 3/8 & 1/2 drive bits to continue my quest to remove these two screws.

Since the bushings fell out in two pieces when I removed the side covers (Not in place anyway) and if unable to remove last two screws this week with heat,I will probably reinstall side covers and fish Saturday.

I would just drill them out and get new screws, pivot and order the Delrin bushings at this point.

Going to try heat and new bits this afternoon before drilling. I already have the delrin bushings from JC racing. Thanks.

Hold a soldering iron directly on the screws for how ever long it takes for smoke to appear then a little longer. Has worked every time I’ve done it. Never had to drill one out yet……..I had a real soldering iron too so you might be there awhile. But better than resorting to the drill. You can get the proper torx sockets on the snap on truck

Thanks for the suggestions. I applied heat again yesterday afternoon with new bits with the impact hammer and was able to remove the remaining two bolts. I installed the delrin bushings and its ready to go again. Have a great day.
