Closed for a couple of years. Crocker is still closed as well. Spring could be a real shotshow.

I haven't a clue whats going on at crocker

They have pulled all the equipment and there is a huge mountain of slug from where they dug out the ramp area

    Still no pavement

its possible they could have it ready early next spring but who knows

Thanks guys, it’s crazy you have a world class lake and the way things is handled there. It kind of makes you scratch your head

Not only is it a world class fishing lake, but it's an incredibly busy pleasure boater lake too. Spring will be very interesting if they don't get Crocker open. For such a giant lake there is very little access.

I thought I saw that they poured the ramp or at least the pad. I was looking for and update and thought all that was left was the lot and guard shack. This doesn't sound good.

They have a few things that need to be done and some before they can put in the pavement

They need to remove the temporary dam at the ramp

    remove the mountain of slug

    put in curbs and pavement

build a cleaning station and the plumbing that goes with it

    build a ticket booth

put in a bunch of railings along the seawalls

    Landscaping

put up signage and paint the parking lot

Last but not least there's a good chance they will need to dredge the cove the new ramps are in

Another option is Miller marine and Jefferson Beach, they both have launches for a fee of course. John from Sportsman Direct said they poured the concrete for the ramps, but no estimation on when crocker will be completed.

It took 11 years for the DNR to move the Union Lake boat ramp 1/2 mile south. It went from 33 spots to 21 but is all on one side of the road. They are in no rush to get any job done.
