    Fury 4 on a Z520R

Anyone swapped from the Fury 3 23p to a Fury 4 on a Z520R? Wondering if a 24p Fury 4 would perform or if a 23p would be a better choice. I am running with 8ft Powerpoles / and TH hydraulic jackplate. Looking to vastly improve hole shot, not overly concerned with top end.

Not sure about the R but I have had two and both slung a blade. However they due run strong on my hull just zero reliability. I'll never own another one.

If you want to improve your holeshot, before you start buying new props, plug the vents in the 23P Fury. I had the same issue. It took forever to get out of the hole. I plugged all vents with the included plastic vent plugs and its like being in a totally different boat now. It gets on plane super quick. Give it a try.

Thanks, how long ago were you running Fury 4s? I know early that had a casting issue with the x7 alloy that was later corrected. Thanks.

Fury 4 is a great prop and improved my hole shot. I’ve been running the same prop for 5 years and have never “slung a blade”.

First was bought used. Prop lasted about 50 hours. Second one I bought new in June and let loose at under 15 hours of use. There are two types of fury 4s, “Ones that have slung blades and ones that are gonna sling one”.

On my 520R I’d wish I got the 23P Fury 4 instead of the 24P. On my boat the 23 would give me more R’s and be closer to max recommended. In the summer I get 5600 R’s, cold water I get 5800 with the Fury 4. The hole shot is definitely better with the 4 over the Fury 3 on my boat.

For what its worth i run a 4 blade 25 pitch on a 2 stroke pro xs 250 on a C boat over the last 5 years never had a blade sling off in fact I have 2 4 blade props, im always hearing about this issue and im thinking these are due to running to much trim or the hydro plate too high up. I love the all around performance of a 4 blade prop and won't go back.

After slinging a blade on Fury 4, I went to bravo. I will never put Fury 4 on my boats. I was running 521 with Merc 250 2 stroke. Prop was never surfaced….

I run my rig like an old man. Not all obviously, but some of those props are just junk.

Thanks for the continued help. The Amazon link is for Etec G2 while mine is an Etec G1. Probably the same prop shaft? Not sure. Is this a different hub than my current hub which is for a fury 25 3 blade?
