Dies at Idle or Nuetral

So my S throttle linkage came loose out on the lake, but didnt find out till I got home (thought it was a fuel issue, or worse because I couldnt throttle up). Put it back, but now the motor will not stay on at Idle or in nuetral... It just starts dropping RPM and sputters out. Any thoughts on what it could be?

I reconnected the linkage with throttle closed or neutral

sound like its running lean or has a fuel restriction before carbs , may need some new linkage retainers/ plastic clips also
