Sold my 2020 Ram Limited & bought a Duramax 3.0

Been looking for the right deal for almost 3 months and finally found one. It’s not as nice as the Ram Limited but I bought it for the 3.0 Duramax. The Ram was my first gasser and I really missed that low end Diesel grunt. I got tired of towing my boat up and down all the hills on the way to Greers and Norfork lake with the Hemi. It did a fine job but pulling up those hills with the engine screaming and the gas mileage just made me miss my Diesels. The Ram was the best truck I’ve ever owned and I never had any issues even with all the bells and whistles it had. Someone will get a really nice well cared for truck. A few pics old to new…sorry but could not figure out how to rotate the pics:

Nice. I've driven one but still waiting to make a deal on one. Folks are snatching them up pretty quickly. Enjoy

Going this Tuesday to Norfork so I’ll report back. I bet I get better than 10 mpg towing.

Enjoy! I get 20+ towing with mine, although it is not super hilly here.

Love my 2021 for sure. To pint with prices etc on new trucks likely buying it at end of lease in March. Got to look at my Residual value in lease paperwork but think it’s around 28-29k so sorta no brained. Looked other day at used prices and couldn’t find another RST 3.0 Duramax for under 39,500 within 200 miles of me in North Central Ohio.

3.92. It pulled great but I never could get used to the higher RPMs towing up long hills. It was fine towing on mild hills and flatlands. We towed from Arkansas to Biloxi MS and back and got 12mpg. All my last trucks were Diesels but my last one soured me so I went gas for the first time and it was fine…until I moved to Arkansas with all the hills and curves on the way to the lakes.

Increasing engine speed is the correct behavior to prevent lugging a gas engine. I am sure your truck was working just fine as designed towing a bass boat. Diesels compensate for loads like that by getting into the boost further. Each method increases stress on the engine.

Just bought a Ram Laramie. always had a cheaper model truck, this thing is nice. All the electronics worry me though. I did look at that 3,0 Duramax though. Everything on this Delta is flat as a pancake, hardly know that TR-21 is in back of me. I drove it up in east Tenn to get another trailer, did fine.

Didn't consider a Ram 1500 with the EcoDiesel?
