Beeping alarm, even though everything is OK

    1997 Johnson 200HP ocean runner.

Chirping alarm chirps when ever I hit a bump. Have checked connections. Wiggle the wire harness and it will chirp. Will not do it consistently. Its in the wires were they go into ignition switch. From the switch the wires go into a six pin plug. Have checked the pins. Could it be the switch? Have wiggled a wire and it will chirp. But not consistently.

Had that happen to my 91 fast strike 175,,,,it was a bad ignition switch(not saying yours is bad but a place to start trouble shooting)

++ to omcforever. There are 5 different wire color combinations attached to the key switch. A chirp is a restart of the warning horn and may be more related to a poor ground black wire connection.

The push on connectors are molded on the wires for the key switch, years of flexing at the connector will cause the wires to break inside the insulator. Check those out before you spend money on a switch.

Ya gotta give the wiring harnesses and the connections the "wiggle test." With the key to ON, start shaking and manipulating the wires foot by foot and at the back of the gauges. Hopefully during your manipulations you will hear the "beep" and know where to start looking.

Another thing is if you have a heavy key ring hanging from the ignition switch, that can also wear the internals prematurely from all the bouncing around.
