STS Puma and STS Caracal boarding from front step

So I'm considering a STS Puma or STS Caracal. I currently have a Lynx which has anti-slip step area on the bow. I don't see it on the bow of the STS Puma and see a small anti-slip area on the Caracal. Even with the Lynx bow step area, it is somewhat challenging to step over the electronics when boarding and exiting the boat down to the two trailer steps. It looks like it is now more difficult with the STS Puma and STS Caracal due less step area. In addition, trolling motor/prop looks like it is more in the way. Can someone provide some feedback on this? I wish Bass Cat would make the steps bigger.

Add a TrickStep I have one on my Caracal with duel 12’s and would never have another boat without. Makes entry and exit a breeze and high quality step system. Use with the stock glass step and you have the ultimate system.

There is an anti slip on the puma sts. However I added a step from torchly and it’s awesome. Heavy duty and looks great too

I just added some nonskid on the bow of my Caracal. I bought a small roll off Amazon and cut it to look factory done. You want to use skateboard grip tape so the grit does not come loose and scratch the gelcoat.

    That looks interesting.

What is the reason for the pool noodles on the graphs up front? Just Curious............

Balzout mounts can fail in rough conditions and the noodles are a just in case measure.

My friend has new Puma STS and the front steps are useless. Trix steps are worth every penny if you are over 40 years old.

If I add a TrickStep to my new PumaSTS. What happens to the pole on the current step. I’m 70 and have a tough time stepping over the 2 graphs. It certainly won’t look good to have 2 grab poles and I’m not sure how to remove the front one without damage the trailer

    You can use both poles.

Blue Steel, I like that, where do I order it and are they different model for different boats? Did you add a hitch extension to make sure it won’t hit your bumper on a sharp back up?

Call the folks at Trick Step. They may ask you to download a Protractor App. It's very easy to do. They are great folks to work with. You do not need a hitch extension
