When is the last time you ate a radish?

Radishes are packed with nutrition/volume but they don’t keep very long. Gotta make the salad the day you buy them.

Not as often as I should. They are excellent. Great pickled too.

Used to eat store bought ones from time to time, then I tried growing some a few years ago. Them things were nasty, bitter tasting, couldn't eat 'em. Don't know what the deal was but never grew 'em again. Use that space for growing something I can eat.

I eat them most of the time I buy stuff to make a decent salad.

red or green leaf lettuce, radishes, mushrooms, croutons, tomatoes, sometimes a carrot.

I have never had issues storing them. They keep better than the mushrooms and the usually the lettuce. The greens on top get funky quick but I normally cut the greens off and rinse them as soon as I get home.

I changed the way I eat about 2 years ago. One of the things I do is eat a lot of radishes. I typically buy one bag a week at the grocery. Sometimes I may skip a week but more times than not I will eat 1 bag a week. Most of the time I get them already trimmed and in a bag but sometimes I get the ones that still have the tops and are sold bunched together.

Grew some for the first time this year, I slice them and use them in salads. Only takes about 6 weeks from planting to harvest.

I tried growing them this summer and the few that actually grew big enough to eat were delicious.
My problem was that the majority did not grow bigger than a peanut.

First item I harvest every year from the garden. I plant a row every two weeks all through the growing season.. during the heat of summer they can get really hot and I make a relish with them that I will use on sandwiches. I’ve never pickled any but may try since someone above said they are good that way also.

Yeah, I'd say about half of mine were nothing more than a root.

Bit into one about 60 years ago, and that was the last time.
