Angry Extermination of Large Hornets ?

I have a Rockwall near our garage by our house and we have a species of huge hornet basically excavating the dirt out from the rocks . These are not the little yellow jackets. These are 1 1/2”
2” sized …..These are big bastards….. they are leaving dirt piles all in front of the wall. I went to Walmart and picked up a can of wasp / yellow jacket spray -that shoots out about 25 feet -I have absolutely doused these giant hornets with the spray. It doesn’t stop them at all. They just keep flying around and it literally has no effect on them. Is there some thing that is more commercial grade that someone can recommend? Getting stung by one of these close to 2 inch size hornets is going to hurt like hell.

We have them in our yard too. They say they are docile and rarely sting you but they do have one h*ll of a big stinger.

Likely the Asian Giant Hornet. When we turn on our flood lights at night, they swarm them

I had an issue with some European Hornets in a stump. I suited up in carharts armed with cans of wasp/hornet foaming spray. Those f'ers would crawl out of the foam and fly away. When they got close I would have to spray them enough to nock them down so I could step on them to kill them. After a couple days of spray foaming their entrance, they were still around. I soaked wrags with gasoline and shoved it in the hole. That seamed to work better than the foam.

Most likely cicada killers, they aren't terribly aggressive and even though they are huge I would rather be stung by one of them than by a swarm of ground hornets. I have been stung by both. A cicada killer will act alone and sting you once while ground hornets will attack in a group and keep stinging you.

Brakleen does a great job as well, kills em all, but you have to make contact. The red can, not the green.
